Last minute easy 4th of July idea for you. Our 4th of July plans are a relaxed BBQ weekend with some games in the yard. But my youngest was disappointed we weren’t making any fun themed dishes (I’ve trained her well it seems!) So we whipped up something simple and quick. This is our families favorite sweet snack mix and we make it for most holidays.
It’s super addictive! And you can change it up easily to what you have on hand.
Ingredients
- 21 oz white candy coating, seperated
- 6 cups crispix or chex cereal
- 1 cup roasted peanuts
- 1 cup m & m’s
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 3 cup mini pretzels ( we used itty bitty pretzels)
- 2 Tablespoons sprinkles
Instructions
- Spread out cereal and peanuts on a large piece of parchment paper.
- Melt 14 oz of candy coating and pour over cereal then quickly stir to coat and spread out.
- Sprinkle with m & m’s. Set aside to harden.
- On another piece of parchment paper spread out mini pretzels.
- Melt remaining 7 oz of candy coating and pour over pretzels and working very quickly toss to coat and spread out then sprinkle the sprinkles over evenly. When coating has hardened combine mixtures.
